freedom 35

i'm still waiting for my black and whites to be developed, (they told me it would be three weeks!) and another two rolls of colour. my lady friend in Japan is sending me some natura 1600's, i'm very excited to see how those turn out.

in the mean time ...

bubbles!

the shoe tree on the way to home from Wasaga beach

my teen on green. it's great when you have someone that is willing to do a photo shoot at any time of the day, in any sort of weather.

this was taken at the Vaughn Mills mall. i think it's a green sea horse - it was attached to a small carousel with other sea creatures dressed in love boat attire.

i splurged and had the developers put the images straight to cd. it's going to save so much time and paper!

something else to look forward to, my last day of work is on friday.

many more to come

my natura classica came in 3 days after i ordered it from lomography.com

the customer service was great and i bought 10 rolls of film; 5 colour, 5 black and white.

excitedly, i opened the box and dragged my fingers along the leathery sides of my new gadget. i loaded in the film and became button happy. nostalgia hit as i held it in my hands, i felt like it was my birthday and christmas all at the same time. because the manual is in japanese, and i don't read japanese, i just started to point and shoot. my first picture was of my cat and then the table and then of me and so on. i really wanted to see what the results would be like with no flash, indoors. so, when the roll of film was finished i rushed it over to Black's and waited a day for the pictures.

i'm definitely going to need some practice!

meet franklin - this was the first picture that i took. indoors, no flash. also, i hadn't quite figured out how to remove the date. who needs to know how to read in japanese?

this is DENISE'S ON BROADVIEW. I pass this hair dresser's every day and there is always someone in her chair. this picture was taken early in the morning before Denise opens. i think she has been there forever. i may have to go in there and ask. if i didn't love my hair dresser so much, i may give her a try. i love the reflection that was caught from across the street.

i didn't get this gentleman's name, but he was lovely! i loved his car and was compelled to shoot. i noticed that he was watching me from a distance, i think he sensed my embarrassment and he engaged me in a conversation. i learned that he calls this car baby and he has had it since the early 70's. i also learned that he was at the doctor's getting blood work done, he's going to be ok.

so this is my son, he'll be two soon. our walks in the morning to school/work can be pretty busy. Watching someone discover the world at the pace that he does, makes me stop the rush and I actually feel how new everything is.

my street is having construction done to it. something to do with the water pipes. it's loud, dirty and makes for a more interesting walk for my son.

ha! that's me. self portrait. digital has made it easy to edit, analog has made it easier to accept. this was taken indoors, in bathroom lighting, no flash.

my scanner just decided to stop working. i have a few more photos to share, mostly outdoor ones.

my over all impression of the camera? i love it. it was a little hard to get used to at first. i kept checking the back of the camera to see the shot, and since i can't blink, it's a bit of a challenge to look through the view finder, especially because i wear glasses. my greatest love? that i am actually creating memories that are tangible again.
